Excellent book. It is a tragedy they don’t teach Dos Passos in high schools like they do, Steinbeck, Hemmingway, and F Scott.
I’d read the USA Trilogy. I liked it. I remember it being kind of slow.
Manhattan Transfer was not slow at all. I feel I really got what Dos Passos was going for on this one.
For a trip to a New York that is long gone, this is the book. Just relax and let yourself sink into it.
Now I feel like I have to go back and re read the USA Trilogy.
